LAURENCE'S CORNER - December 2,
2009
"There exists a shadowy Government with its own Air Force, its own
Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own
ideas of national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free
from the law itself." — Senator Daniel K. Inouye, during the Iran-Contra
Hearings and former chair, U.S. Senate MK-ULTRA hearings, 1977.

Last night, on December 1, 2009, President Obama became just another
in a long-line of warmongering presidents. There are some differences
between Democrats and Republicans. Michael Tsarion writes, “The so-
called Left-Right political spectrum is our creation. In fact, it accurately
reflects our careful, artificial polarization of the population on phony
issues that prevents the issue of our power from arising in their minds.”
However, at the apex of the pyramid of power, is the imperative,
directed by the Military Industrial Complex, to wage war. Obama’s
rationale regarding the protecting of the nuclear weapons in Pakistan is
just another version of Bush’s “weapon’s of mass destruction” rationale.

Who knows what the National Security Council is? Who comprises the
National Security Council? Four people: the President, Vice-President,
Secretary of State, and Secretary of Defense. The President appoints
three of these. Therefore, it is easy to see who runs the National
Security Council. Anything having to do with National Security falls
under its control. Therefore, the Congress is bypassed, the media is
bypassed, the Constitution is bypassed. And most importantly, it
bypasses the public.

Is there a shadow government that really controls things in our nation?
Felix Frankfurter, Supreme Court Justice said, “The real rulers in
Washington are invisible, and exercise power from behind the scenes.”
In his Farewell Address, President Dwight D. Eisenhower on January 17,
1961 warned us, “Our military organization today bears little relation to
that known by any of my predecessors in peacetime, or indeed by the
fighting men of World War II or Korea . . .  In the councils of government,
we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence,
whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The
potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will
persist.”

During the 1940’s we were attacked by two super-powers, both with
massive armaments, and the most advanced technology. Yet, it only
took us four years to defeat these formidable enemies, which we were
simultaneously battling in the East and the West. Yet, no one seems to
wonder why it has taken two long wars with Iraq, led by father and son
Bush, to even reach something of a conclusion. Obama said last night
that we will have our troops home from Iraq, probably in 2011. We
attacked a nation that had literally no air force, and a pittance of our
technological might, and yet for some odd reason, the war drags on and
on, with more and more of our young people dying each day. Why don’t
people ask why? Why could we defeat Hitler and the Japanese in four
years, and yet we have been fighting the second Iraq war for nine years,
and still it continues. Who’s winning?

So far, in this second Iraq war, 103,000 civilians have been killed.
103,000 innocents have died because of our war on terror. Mark Twain
prophesized, “Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the
blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of
those conscience-soothing tactics, and will diligently study them, and
refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by
convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better
sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception.” In
order that we can feel more “safe” in our living rooms, 103,000 innocent
civilians have had to be killed. That’s what the government tells us. Is
that reasonable? 3.8 million people are refugees because of our war on
terror in Iraq alone. It sounds to me that our government is the terror.
1366 people died in the World Trade Center collapse. 1366 innocent
lives = 103,000 innocent lives? It’s a strange equation.

Now we’re off to do more killing in Afghanistan, and probably eventually
Pakistan. I think we were being prepped last night for the eventual
“next” war, which will be in Pakistan. Obama said we were attacked from
Afghanistan. Nazi leader Hermann Goering wrote, “Voice or no voice,
the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. All you
have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the
peacemakers for their lack of patriotism and exposing the country to
danger. It works the same in any country.” Obama said we were attacked
from Afghanistan, but weren’t 15 of the attackers from Saudi Arabia?
Yet, we allowed all Saudis to fly back to their country the day after 9-11,
a day when no American was allowed to fly the skies. If we were truly
desirous of finding the underlying cause of the World Trade Center
terrorist conspiracy, why were the Saudi families allowed to leave
without being thoroughly questioned?

“Even if you are in a minority of one, the truth is still the truth,” stated
Mahatma Gandhi. It is time to truly face what is really going on in the
world, and to take a stand. While innocent babies are being slaughtered
in Iraq and Afghanistan, we’re sitting at home watching “Reality TV” and
“Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” We can’t stand to see reality, yet we
watch “reality” TV shows. Our own press and cable news censors
photographs that it thinks are too real (they say “graphic”) for us to see.
To real for us to see, in my opinion, because the authorities know that if
we see such photos and/or video, we would start to wake up. We are
deliberately being kept in a state of ignorance by our government and
the shadow-government.

Many people think Bush the Second made many verbal mistakes in his
speeches. But what if they were “Freudian slips”? For example, he
stated, “You’re free. And freedom is beautiful. And, you know, it’ll take
time to restore chaos and order – order out of chaos. But we will.” The
fortunes of Prescott Bush helped Hitler to come to power. The Guardian
from the U.K. writes on September 25, 2004, “George Bush's
grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and
shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the
financial backers of Nazi Germany. The Guardian has obtained
confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives
that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the
financial architects of Nazism. His business dealings, which continued
until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with
the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for
damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two
former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election
controversy. The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war
crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator's action should have
been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”

David Icke refers to this process as PROBLEM – REACTION – SOLUTION.
First, the government covertly creates a problem, like a terror, for
example. Then secondly, they want the public to react with fear, like the
mention of Al-Qaeda getting their hands on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons
(weapons of mass destruction redux). Finally, the government offers
the people the solution that it itself has already created. War.

The best way to fight the negative forces that would take away all of our
freedoms, is to know yourself. There is a war on consciousness that is
happening. If you don’t know yourself, you can be easily manipulated.
However, so many people prefer to live lives that pre-programmed and
pre-packaged for them. The answer does not lie in going out and
dressing like a hippie or biker. True freedom is found within yourself.
Margaret Meade said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed individuals can change the world, indeed it's the only thing
that ever has.”
